Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client in Oklahoma City, OK is seeking a hands-on Data Center Deployment Technician to support the installation and initial deployment of a new AI infrastructure environment. This individual will be responsible for racking, stacking, cabling, powering on equipment, validating hardware functionality, and providing onsite smart hands support during implementation.
Responsibilities:
* Rack and stack server, networking, and infrastructure equipment into 1-2 data center racks
* Install and cable Dell PowerEdge servers, Cisco Nexus switches, and supporting infrastructure
* Power on and perform initial hardware validation, including identifying dead-on-arrival (DOA) equipment
* Verify physical connectivity, port assignments, and cable management standards
* Assist with hardware inventory, labeling, and documentation
* Work with remote engineering teams to provide onsite "smart hands" support
* Troubleshoot basic hardware, cabling, and connectivity issues
* Follow data center best practices for power, cabling, safety, and equipment handling
* Provide status updates and document completed work

Networking:
* Cisco Nexus 93180YC-FX3 Top-of-Rack Switches (2)
* Cisco Nexus 92348GC-X Out-of-Band Management Switch (1)
Logistics:
* Onsite, hands-on deployment role
* Potential short-term project engagement
* Duration and scheduling currently being finalized with the client
REQUIREMENTS:
* Experience performing rack and stack deployments in data center environments
* Hands-on experience installing and cabling servers, switches, and network hardware
* Familiarity with Cisco Nexus switching platforms
* Experience supporting Dell PowerEdge server installations
* Understanding of copper and fiber cabling standards
* Ability to identify and report hardware failures and installation issues
* Experience providing remote hands/smart hands support for engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications:
* Data center migration, buildout, or infrastructure deployment experience
* Experience with AI, GPU, or high-performance computing environments
* Knowledge of out-of-band management networks
* Ability to read rack elevations, network diagrams, and deployment documentation
Ideal candidates will have strong data center deployment experience, be comfortable working independently in a rack environment, and have experience supporting network and server infrastructure implementations for enterprise clients.
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
