The Bridges and Structures Practice is seeking a motivated CAD Technician Intern in Spokane, WA, who is eager to learn and contribute in a collaborative environment.

This is a great opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience supporting the design and construction of transportation structures - including bridges, retaining walls, and more. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and designers, using industry-leading tools and software to help bring real-world infrastructure projects to life. 

What You'll DoKey Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the production of CAD drawings, layouts, and graphics for transportation structures such as reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, and steel designs.  

  • Support the development of construction documents by incorporating engineering markups with guidance from senior staff.  

  • Use design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and OpenRoads Designer to create and modify drawings.  

  • Learn and apply industry standards (e.g., AASHTO) under the direction of licensed engineers.  

  • Help maintain organized drawing files and follow company and project-specific drafting standards.  

  • Collaborate with team members using file-sharing platforms like ProjectWise.  

  • Participate in quality checks and assist with updates to drawings and quantities as projects evolve. 

What You BringRequired Qualifications:
  • Exposure to CAD software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, OpenRoads, or Civil 3D through coursework or academic projects.  

  • Basic understanding of drafting principles and engineering drawings.  

  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn in a team environment.
