Sales & Business Development Intern

Looking for more than a typical internship?
The Michelle Kerfin State Farm Agency is looking for two energetic, fearless, and genuinely good people to join our team as part-time Sales & Business Development Interns.
This is a hands-on internship. You won't spend your time getting coffee or watching someone else work. You'll learn how to communicate with customers, generate opportunities, build relationships, market a local business, and become comfortable asking people to take the next step.
Most importantly, you'll learn how to pick up the phone, start conversations, follow a proven word track, overcome hesitation, and gain YESes
What You'll Do:
Your primary responsibility will be making outbound calls to prospect and customer lists within our CRM.
You'll work closely with our sales team to create opportunities and schedule appointments. Your work will directly contribute to the growth of the agency.
You'll also have opportunities to:
  • Call prospects using provided lists, systems, and word tracks
  • Start conversations and identify potential insurance needs
  • Generate qualified leads and appointments for our sales team
  • Connect with existing customers to strengthen relationships
  • Schedule customer review appointments by phone or Zoom
  • Follow up consistently with prospects and customers
  • Learn how to confidently handle objections and ask for the appointment
  • Help with agency social media and marketing initiatives
  • Participate in community events and agency activities
  • Learn how a successful local business attracts, serves, and retains customers
