Job description

Job Description
We are seeking a Sous Chef to bring their culinary expertise to a luxury living complex in South Carolina. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a hotel setting and will assist the Executive Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen. You will help oversee menu development, kitchen operations, and the professional development of the culinary team while ensuring that each dish reflects the high standards of our hospitality company.
Responsibilities
  • Culinary leadership: Support the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring excellence in food quality and presentation.
  • Menu development: Collaborate in designing seasonal and event-specific menus, offering a creative approach to classic cuisine with a modern twist.
  • Team management: Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
  • Operational excellence: Participate in hands-on food preparation, ensuring consistency in flavor and presentation.
  • Event and banquet support: Assist with the execution of special events, private functions, and banquets.
  • Culinary intern program: Support the development and training of culinary interns, helping shape the next generation of talent.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary/Hospitality management or a related field.
  • 2+ years of Sous Chef experience in a luxury or fine-dining setting.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a passion for team development and guest satisfaction.
  • Experience in creating and executing seasonal and event-specific menus with a creative flair.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with proficiency in both written and verbal forms.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Fine-dining experience with knowledge of regional and global culinary trends.
  • Due to visa restrictions, at the moment we are only accepting candidates from Mexico and Canada. The limitation on Mexican and Canadian nationals is a legal requirement tied to the specifics of the TN visa, not a preference of the employer.

Benefits
  • Relocation:
    • TN Visa sponsorship for qualified candidates from Mexico and Canada.
    • One-way flight from home city to the U.S.
    • Temporary housing and transportation provided during the first three months of employment.

  • General:
    • Competitive salary: $56,000 USD annually.
    • PTO of 40 hours during the first year and increasing year by year.
    • Comprehensive insurance plans available.
