Overview
FMI Corporation is seeking a talented professional to join FMI Capital Advisors, the firm's investment banking group and registered broker/dealer, as a summer intern. For over 70 years FMI has been the leading consulting and investment banking firm exclusively serving the built environment. Our interns support all members of the practice and gain valuable exposure to the field of investment banking. Interns will be placed as generalists across our industry and product coverage teams. Formal training, educational speaker events, mentorship, networking and social opportunities are offered throughout.

This full-time, paid internship requires a commitment of 40 hours per week for a period of 10 weeks over the summer and will be based in our company headquarters in downtown, Raleigh, North Carolina.

Responsibilities
  • Conducting industry, market and company-specific research
  • Performing financial analysis and financial modeling

  • Providing support to members of the investment banking group and performing other duties as assigned

  • Penultimate year Undergraduate student with outstanding academic achievement seeking a summer internship with the opportunity for 2028 full-time conversion upon graduation
  • Bachelor's degree in progress from a top-tier university in business, finance, accounting or related field
  • Demonstrated track record of superior performance in extracurricular and professional activities
  • Strong quantitative / analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent research and information management skills
  • Superior organizational and time management skills, and the ability to efficiently manage multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, problem solving, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated maturity, integrity and the ability to perform in an entrepreneurial environment, both individually and as a team player
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Other Information
This full-time, paid internship requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, with the possibility of overtime. The 10-week summer program offers a pay rate of $30 per hour. The internship is estimated to start June 1, 2027, with an estimated end date of July 30, 2027.
Internship participants are responsible for securing their own housing accommodations for the duration of the 10-week program. One option to consider is the North Carolina State University Housing program for students who are pursuing summer internships.
