This role requires a rare combination of deep technical expertise, strategic business acumen, and the ability to operate effectively in both entrepreneurial and enterprise environments. The SPG CTO will report directly to Hub International's Chief Technology Officer, and will serve as a key member of the SPG executive leadership team. This position must balance SPG's unique specialty insurance needs with Hub International's enterprise technology standards, governance frameworks, and corporate strategic direction.

  • Collaborate with Hub International's enterprise architecture team to ensure SPG technology decisions align with corporate technology roadmaps, security policies, and compliance requirements
Digital Platform & Product Engineering
  • Oversee the evolution and scaling of SPG's digital insurance platforms (Squaremouth, Insureon, CM&F Group) with focus on customer experience, conversion optimization, and operational efficiency
  • Lead engineering teams in building modern, cloud-native applications with emphasis on API-first architecture, microservices, and scalable infrastructure
  • Drive platform integration strategies across carrier partnerships, quote engines, policy administration systems, and distribution channels
  • Partner with HUB's QA/testing and cloud ops organization to build SPG's standardized QA/testing frameworks and DevOps practices to ensure high-quality, reliable software delivery
  • Balance technical debt reduction with feature development, making strategic build-vs-buy decisions

  • Lead SPG's AI transformation initiative, identifying high-impact use cases across underwriting, claims, customer service, and operational workflows
