Senior Purchasing Manager
Industry: Distribution / Supply Chain /US /International

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Purchasing Manager to lead domestic and international procurement activities for a growing distribution company. This leadership role is responsible for sourcing, supplier negotiations, inventory planning, cost reduction initiatives, and ensuring the timely procurement of products that support company growth and profitability.

The ideal candidate is a bilingual procurement professional with strong supplier management experience, a proven track record of career progression, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all domestic and international purchasing activities.
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies that support company objectives.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and supplier agreements.
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with existing vendors.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with sales, operations, and warehouse teams to ensure product availability.
  • Analyze market trends, supply chain risks, and pricing fluctuations.
  • Manage import/export purchasing activities and international supplier relationships.
  • Drive cost savings initiatives and improve purchasing efficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement best practices.
  • Prepare purchasing forecasts, reports, and vendor performance evaluations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop purchasing team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or above -
  • Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Purchasing, or related field.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive purchasing/procurement experience.
  • Experience within a distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, or supply chain environment.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Strong experience with both domestic and international sourcing.
  • Demonstrated career progression and stable employment history.
  • Proven success negotiating contracts and supplier agreements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP systems, Excel, and purchasing software.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing international suppliers in Latin America, Asia, or Europe.
  • CPIM, CPSM, CSCP, or related purchasing certification.
