Job Title:Senior Director, Sourcing & Procurement

Summary:

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is expanding and strengthening its global Sourcing & Procurement capabilities to drive strategic value, operational excellence, and world-class partnership across the enterprise. TheSenior Director, Sourcing & Procurementwill lead the global Indirect Procurement organization, shaping sourcing strategy, building a resilient and efficient supply ecosystem, and delivering measurable impact across all indirect categories.

This executive role requires a seasoned procurement leader with deep expertise across strategic sourcing, category management, supplier negotiations, procurement operations, and organizational leadership. The ideal candidate has a strong record of driving transformation, achieving commercial excellence, and influencing senior stakeholders in a complex, global environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Sourcing & Procurement Strategy

  • Develop and execute a global sourcing and procurement strategy aligned with business priorities and operating model that strengthens SIE's competitive position.
  • Drive category strategies across all indirect spend areas-including technology, marketing, professional services, and corporate categories.
  • Establish a long-term roadmap for procurement maturity, process optimization, policy development, and supplier innovation.
  • Anticipate market trends, emerging risks, and supply dynamics to proactively evolve sourcing strategies and ensure business continuity.

Value Optimization, Operational Excellence & Delivery

  • Ensure procurement delivers measurable value-improving cost efficiency, service levels, operational performance, and enterprise-wide sourcing outcomes.
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing processes, including requirements gathering, RFPs, negotiations, contracting, and supplier onboarding.
  • Optimize procurement operations through technology, analytics, process improvements, and best-in-class governance frameworks.
  • Oversee procurement performance metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Supplier Relationship, Category Leadership & Risk Management

  • Manage strategic supplier relationships to maximize performance, innovation, value, and resilience.
  • Build and maintain a balanced supplier portfolio that supports SIE's quality, service, cost, ESG, and risk-management objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation, diversification, innovation, and long-term value creation.
  • Implement supplier performance management and risk-mitigation practices across key categories.

Stakeholder Partnership & Influence

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives and business units on sourcing strategy, commercial negotiations, supplier risk, and cost optimization.
  • Influence business decisions through data-driven insights, industry expertise, and strong commercial acumen, advocating for procurement's strategic role and driving enterprise-wide alignment.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead a high-performing global Sourcing & Procurement team, developing expertise across sourcing, category management, procurement operations, and analytics.
  • Set clear priorities, elevate team performance, mentor and develop talent, and foster a collaborative, service-oriented environment that supports organizational growth and long-term capability building.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in global sourcing and procurement, with deep expertise across categories.
  • Proven track record leading end-to-end sourcing and procurement functions in complex, multinational environments.
  • Demonstrated success in designing procurement organizations, implementing scalable processes, and building strategic partnerships with business leaders.
  • Strong negotiation, supplier management, and contract strategy experience.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience in gaming, entertainment, or technology industries is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

This is a flexible role that can be remote, with varying pay ranges based on geographic location. For example, if you are based out of Seattle, the estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$237,500-$356,300 USD
