Summary
The Procurement Manager (PM) is responsible for specified Commodities in GP such as Marketing, Business Service, Property Management, HR, IT, etc. or other designated departments. Within the specified Commodity, the PM is responsible for Supplier Management, supporting designated stakeholders in supplier selection activities, and the award and negotiation of contracts. Works in partnership with the Legal department to review/approve final contract language that protects the interests of LG Electronics, U.S.A. and it's stakeholders. Responsible for achieving cost savings as directed by the Director of NA GP.
Responsibilities
  • Build procurement strategy for assigned commodity, which includes Commodity Play Book.
  • Responsible for sourcing and managing suppliers, while capturing best in class cost and terms & conditions required for the services needed by stakeholders.
  • Frequently updates status of negotiations with stakeholders and suppliers. Identifies potential issues and provides executable solutions.
  • Negotiations with Suppliers Sales executives/Presidents very common. Must be able to obtain approvals and final signatures from stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Expected to lead negotiations with both internal stakeholders and suppliers of decisions related to GP practices and policies.
  • Requires broad job knowledge of all GP practices. Apply negotiation principles to perform job duties.
  • Responsible for creating an advantageous negotiating position from the beginning. Must understand supplier financial situation and overall economic indicators when negotiating costs for services.
  • Resourceful innovation is necessary to create leverage opportunities while meeting stakeholder requirements.
  • Wide latitude to identify and execute innovative ideas to meet business objectives.
  • Mainly regional responsibility would be expected, with possibility to expand the suppliers' service globally if possible.
  • Must be able to find negotiation leverage opportunities with every purchasing contract.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of experience performing contract negotiations as procurement or sales
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) a plus
