About Smart Infrastructure - Electrification and Automation:
The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of todays and tomorrow's power grid!
The Siemens Project Management Office (PMO) is looking for a Project Manager (PM) to join our team in Electrification and Automation (EA) and Protection and Automation (P&A) Team. This position is hybrid within the Wendell, NC area with an expectation of 2-3 days in office.
You'll make an impact as you:
As a PM, you will be responsible for the successful execution of projects, from project initiation through final closeout. You will work in a matrix style organization requiring excellent coordination skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. The PM role comes with ample opportunities for growth, reflective of Siemens' mission to empower people with a growth mindset.
  • Direct all phases of projects from inception through completion.
  • Manage the cost, schedule, quality, and technical performance of the assigned project(s).
  • Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Lead and drive multi-disciplinary and cross functional teams, including engineering, operations, vendor management, logistics and services to ensure successful project execution.
  • Provide regular updates to team, management, and PMO on work performed, plans, budget, and overall status.
  • Identify project problems and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
  • Proactive Risk identification and Mitigation.
  • Manage customer expectations across project cycle and lead single and multi-product medium voltage solutions projects.
  • Direct diagnostics with the ability to determine root cause and corrective actions.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
  • 3+ years of experience in the power distribution industry managing medium voltage portfolios.
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office and specifically Microsoft Project
  • 1+ year of working with multi-disciplinary teams, including program management, services, engineering, operations, and logistics
  • Must have a valid US Driver's License
  • Ability to travel up to 20% (domestic and international)
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Project management or engineering internship or related work experience in Power distribution industry.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of power distribution; ability to read and understand basic electrical drawings and customer specifications.
  • Experience in identifying and implementing cost savings measures within project
  • Commitment to develop, drive, and manage projects in a highly competitive market
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to present complex issues to multi-level audiences and effectively communicate progress, status and issues to internal and external Customers
  • Ability to interpret and report results to senior management as well as customer
  • Demonstrated ability in contract and change management.
  • PMP certification as a plus
  • PMP certification is required within 1 year of employment

The pay range for this position is $74,970 - $128,520 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
