Job Summary
Lead the development and execution of category strategies and sourcing plans for General Services across the Americas to achieve the best total cost of ownership. Partner closely with business and cross-functional stakeholders to align priorities, maximize value, and support strategic objectives. The Category Manager - Americas leads commercial discussions with suppliers, manages regular business reviews, drives multi-source qualification efforts, and provides pricing support during budgeting and business case development.
Job Location
This role is based at our corporate office in the Perimeter area of Atlanta, GA.
Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage General Services category strategies across the Americas by leading cross-functional and cross-regional teams.
  • Tailor category strategies to business needs by defining priorities and aligning stakeholders.
  • Translate category and supplier strategies into executable sourcing plans that deliver targeted results for the business.
  • Incorporate cost, availability, innovation, quality, risk, and sustainability considerations into all sourcing plans.
  • Ensure the category team is aligned and communicating effectively across the business to develop and implement programs, including active participation in relevant functional, performance, and operational teams.
  • Collaborate with divisional and local Procurement leaders to guide Division Category Managers' activities and development.
  • Leverage broader Procurement resources and capabilities to strengthen sourcing strategies and deliver additional value to CRH businesses.
  • Develop and manage key supplier relationships and performance within the category.
  • Lead the RFx process from supplier selection through onboarding in line with agreed strategies, including conducting sourcing events as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement processes and other statutory requirements within the category.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of procurement experience in an international environment.
  • 5+ years of procurement experience managing General or Corporate Services preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience leading category teams.
  • Recent category management experience in a large, complex, multi-country organization.
  • Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience developing compelling category strategies, gaining stakeholder buy-in, and driving execution through disciplined planning.
  • Significant experience with source-to-pay processes, negotiation, and contracting.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, along with solid project management skills.
  • Well-rounded procurement professional with strong business acumen.
  • Data- and people-driven leader with sound judgment and decision-making ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and execute a category management agenda.
  • Collaborative partner who works effectively with both the business and the Global Procurement organization.
  • Willing to travel as needed to perform the role effectively.
  • Able to collaborate successfully on international projects.
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet.
