JOB SUMMARY
The International Assistance Nurse Case Manager will provide clinical input to the operations team by means of review, summary and analysis of medical records providing direction regarding medical necessity, proposed plan of care, requirement for past medical history checks, cost containment and evacuation & repatriation. The International Assistance Nurse Case Manager will work with the multidisciplinary team of medical and operational colleagues to appropriately risk assess and manage our highest risk cases.
JOB DETAILS
  • Compensation: $90,000-$140,000
  • RN License -- Must have an active RN license in good standing
  • Location: Hybrid or in Office
  • Relocation Expenses Reimbursed: No
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. IMG will not be providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Actively seek verbal and written medical information for inpatients
  • Real time analysis of care received & proposed plan of care.
  • Real time evaluation of care, proposed plan of care, evacuation & repatriation requirements.
  • Real time evaluation and recommendation of cost containment strategies.
  • Provide guidance to our operations colleagues regarding claims conditions status of acute or pre-existing.
  • Provide out-of-hours support to the Precertification & GPMI team providing certifications and clinical direction for urgent precertification requirements.
  • Complete thorough review and analysis of the patients past medical history and align with their plan terms and conditions liaising with operations to determine if benefits are in place.
  • Collaborate with our operations team, equipment manager and flight team to ensure all commercial escorted reparations are appropriately augmented with clinicians and equipment.
  • Provide Telephone and email-based travel advice to individuals and small corporate groups.
  • Act as an advocate and provides ongoing health education when necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of all protected health information.
  • Continue education through relevant reading materials, online courses and/or seminars.
  • Support and participate in Quality Management activities.
  • Report/document expressions of dissatisfaction when/if received.
  • Any other job duties or tasks assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current and active Nursing license - Registered Nurse
  • 5 years experience in an acute field such as Emergency Room, ICU
  • Excellent computer skills including familiarity with the Internet, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work autonomously, while working as part of a team.
  • Dynamic and adaptable character.
  • Ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of normal anatomy and physiology and the impact of disease, illness & injury.

PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Experience in aeromedical retrievals
  • Experience with assistance case management
  • Experience with insurance case management and preauthorization procedures.
  • Experience (professional or personal) of international travel
  • Experience in teaching and mentorship of peer groups
  • Foreign language skills.
