Position Summary:

The Director of Business Development International is responsible for leading international marketing, sales, and capture activities for new business opportunities, while maintaining strong relationships and customer service with existing international customers. These will include leading efforts to identify, qualify, pursue, and win international government business opportunities exceeding multi-million dollars annually, leveraging established relationships while researching, targeting, and developing new strategic customer and partner relationships. The International Senior Director of Business Development will represent the Company and its values, ensuring client and partner expectations are met and exceeded.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and pursue International direct and indirect business opportunities through government and military channels and strategic partnerships with those stakeholders.
  2. Lead the development and submission of competitive proposals, ensuring clear articulation of solutions and compliance with relevant military specifications (MIL-SPECs). Incorporate Air Transportation SME input to validate operational feasibility and technical accuracy of proposed solutions.
  3. Maintain accurate business development and sales data within the Company’s CRM system.
  4. Conduct thorough market research and analysis of international customer government/military aerospace requirements to support proposal and contract development.
  5. Develop and execute contract strategies, including pricing discussions, timeline management, and deliverable definition. Leverage experience to assist in the creation and completion of these requirements.
  6. Draft and review contractual provisions, ensuring compliance with FAR and DFARS regulations.
  7. Serve as a subject matter expert during contract negotiations, advocating for the Company’s interests while meeting client needs.
  8. Maintain effective communication with business partners and government clients, ensuring timely information exchange and issue resolution.
  9. Prepare quotes for smaller opportunities and related equipment.
  10. Contribute to website and social media updates, highlighting the Company’s capabilities and achievements. Ensure marketing materials accurately represent the Company’s expertise in air transportation solutions, potentially with SME contribution.
  11. Coordinate travel and logistics for industry conferences and events. Facilitate SME participation in relevant conferences and events to enhance the Company’s technical credibility.

  7. Proven analytical and written and verbal communication skills.
  8. Ability to be proactive, prioritize and maintain deadlines in a service-oriented and sales driven environment.
  9. Speed and accuracy are essential requirements for this position.
  10. Works well in a “team” environment.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in business or related program. MBA a plus.

2. Minimum of 5 years of International Aviation or Business development experience.

3. Computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms.

4. Prior military, aerospace, aviation experience a plus.


Work Environment Requirements:

1. Full-Time Position.

2. International travel and occasional domestic travel required.

3. Office environment at Knight headquarters is typical for day-to-day operations.
