Job description

Position Title: Operations Manager
Salary: $80,000-$85,000 / Year, DOE
This is an opportunity to step into a key operational role with an established, family-owned commercial construction company known for its craftsmanship, reliability, and strong reputation in high-security fencing. The Operations Manager will keep field operations moving by coordinating crews, managing schedules, ordering materials, preparing field documentation and working closely with the estimating, CAD and leadership teams to ensure every project is set up for success. The ideal candidate is a sharp, hands-on operations professional who understands construction, can read blueprints and knows how to stay three steps ahead of changing schedules, material needs and field priorities. Experience in fencing is highly preferred, but strong construction operations experience, attention to detail and the ability to coordinate crews effectively are what matter most.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily field operations across multiple crews, ensuring teams have the schedules, materials and information needed to execute projects efficiently
  • Develop and adjust crew schedules based on project timelines, weather, callouts, and changing field conditions
  • Order materials, track project requirements and anticipate upcoming needs to prevent delays in the field
  • Prepare summary sheets, submittals and other project documentation for field crews and internal teams
  • Read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications and project addendums to support accurate project execution
  • Collaborate with estimating, CAD, shop and field teams on takeoffs, project breakdowns and changing job requirements
  • Spend time in both the office and shop with occasional field visits to stay connected to active projects and operational needs

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in construction operations, field coordination, crew scheduling or a similar operational leadership role
  • Proven experience organizing multiple crews and planning schedules around changing project demands
  • Ability to confidently read and interpret construction blueprints, plans and specifications
  • Strong understanding of construction operations, material coordination and project preparation
  • Comfortable using computers and learning the systems required to manage documentation, schedules and project information
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and proactive with the ability to identify what needs to happen before it becomes urgent
  • Commercial fencing or related industry experience is highly preferred

Benefits
  • Competitive base salary of $80,000-$85,000 depending on experience
  • Employer contribution toward health insurance coverage
  • 401(k) plan with company match
  • Paid time off
  • Consistent full-time schedule with approximately 40 hours per week
  • Long-term opportunity to become a trusted operational partner to the next generation of company leadership

If you know how to organize crews, anticipate what a job needs before the field asks for it, and keep construction projects moving without losing sight of the details, apply today and take ownership of a role built for long-term impact.
