Founded in 2004, Brilliant Corners provides innovative housing and housing-related services to Californiaโ€™s most vulnerable individuals, with an emphasis on those transitioning from, or at risk of, homelessness or institutionalization. We develop, own, and manage multi-family supportive housing and licensed residential care homes. We implement a broad array of scattered-site, one-on-one supportive housing, and clinical case management programs through partnerships with developmental services, homeless services, veteransโ€™ services, and health care sectors.

Department Summary

The Brilliant Cornersโ€™ Operations Department is the agencyโ€™s engine for delivering efficient, compliant, and scalable housing solutions statewide. Our team oversees organizational operations, ensuring that people, processes, and systems work in concert to advance our mission.

We partner across departments to manage contracts, budgets, compliance, and other core operational functions. Whether supporting direct service teams, stewarding resources, or driving strategic initiatives, the Operations Department provides the infrastructure and coordination that allows the agency to operate effectively and sustainably. With a focus on service, collaboration, and accountability, we ensure that Brilliant Corners meets funder expectations, supports staff needs, and is equipped to adapt and grow, creating the foundation for housing solutions that transform lives.

Position Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operational workflows, supervising Operations Supervisors and/or senior staff, and ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery across programs. This role bridges frontline execution and strategic leadership by translating organizational priorities into effective processes, performance management systems, and operational improvements.

The Operations Manager leads workflow optimization, monitors performance metrics, ensures compliance with funder requirements, and partners cross-functionally with Finance, Programs, and Data & Technology teams to support scalable and efficient service delivery. This role also plays a key part in developing team capacity, strengthening accountability, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Position Responsibilities

Operations Oversight and Service Delivery: Manage daily workflows to ensure timely, accurate processing of applications, payments, and program services. Monitor turnaround times, service quality, and resolve escalations or complex cases as needed.

Team Leadership and Performance Management: Supervise Operations Supervisors and/or senior staff, set clear expectations, track performance metrics, and provide ongoing coaching and development to support team effectiveness and growth.

Process Improvement and Standardization: Assess existing workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement process improvements. Develop and reinforce SOPs, tools, and best practices to ensure consistency and scalability.

Data, Reporting and Operational Insights: Track and analyze key performance indicators, generate reports, and use data to inform decisions, improve outcomes, and ensure accountability across teams.

Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with Program, Data, Finance, and other internal teams, as well as external stakeholders, to address operational issues, support program delivery, and maintain strong working relationships.

Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to funder requirements, internal policies, and audit standards. Maintain high-quality documentation and proactively address risks or gaps in compliance.

Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities and activities as needed to support departmental and organizational objectives.

Requirements

Professional Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in operations, program administration, or related roles
  • 3+ years of management or supervisory experience required
  • Experience in compliance-driven or government-funded environments preferred
  • Experience with financial processes, payments, or fiscal intermediary models preferred

Physical Requirements

Candidates should have physical mobility for tasks such as standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, and walking on uneven surfaces. Additionally, candidates should be able to lift, carry, push, pull light to moderate weights up to 15 pounds safely. Requires mental acuity for analytical reasoning and document interpretation.

Salary range for this position is $80,000 - $101,809 annually. This position is being offered at $80,000.00 - $82,000.00 annually.
