What Communications Business Partner contributes to Cardinal Health
Communications defines and executes communication and public relations strategies in support of the company's business objectives, image and reputation for both internal and external stakeholders. This function builds relationships with external stakeholders, including media and community organizations, and designs meetings and communications to leverage these relationships and promote the company.
Communications Business Partner engages various internal audiences in the purpose and priorities of Cardinal Health, key initiatives and strategies with the goal of accelerating company performance. This job family develops and distributes print-based and digital communications including corporate policy manuals, internal newsletters, process handbooks, and function-specific documents created in collaboration with subject matter experts. This job family evaluates employee engagement with internal communications and liaises with leaders to ensure dissemination of communications.

Position Summary

We are looking for a strategic and collaborative communications professional. As Manager, Communication Business Partner, you will shape and deliver communications and public relations strategies in support of the company's Pharmaceutical and Specialty Solutions business objectives, with a focus on retail pharmacy, for both internal and external stakeholders and work cross-functionally in support of sales and customer-facing meetings.

You are someone who is curious, proactive, organized, and can navigate high-stakes situations. You are a strong writer with experience in media relations, executive communications, and issues management. You are a self starter with a can-do attitude who can build working relationships across the business in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

  • Creates clear, concise communications tailored for specific audiences and channels, drawing upon business and communication expertise.
  • Develops and leads communications strategies aligned to Pharmaceutical & Specialty Solutions business priorities, using best-in-class communication approaches to achieve business goals
  • Mines for and tells compelling stories that support the Pharmaceutical and Specialty Solutions segment priorities with a focus on retail pharmacy.
  • Leads communications strategy and content development for large-scale, high-visibility internal and customer-facing events, including mainstage messaging, executive scripting. Aligns messaging with internal teams and leaders to ensure clarity and consistency. Acts as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, providing strategic counsel on high-impact communications, including crisis response, business continuity, customer messaging, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Maintains a strong understanding of company and segment strategies to ensure messaging consistency.
  • Build collaborative relationships across a matrixed organization and with external partners.
  • Continuously improves team processes and communications approaches.
  • Tracks and analyzes communications performance across channels and uses insights to inform future strategies.
  • Develops and executes PR and thought leadership strategies that strengthen the company's position in retail pharmacy, including media outreach, pitching and engagement.
  • Creates external-facing content such as press releases, executive scripts, and social media posts.
  • Develops and executes internal communications strategies that support business initiatives, storytelling, and culture.
  • Produces internal content including executive messages, employee spotlights, announcements, townhalls, digital signage, and huddle scripts.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in communications or public relations preferred.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 15%.
