This opportunity entails developing, planning and implementing a communications plan and strategy that has a direct impact on employee engagement/education in a way that reinforces and promotes HNTB's brand and company culture. This includes planning, overseeing and developing content for the company's intranet, other specialized programs targeted to employee audiences. You also will collaborate with and counsel leadership on effective communications strategies. This role requires a creative and innovative thinker who can develop the communications approach and content using a variety of communications tools and platforms tailored to appropriate audiences and situations. The internal communications manager will collaborate and coordinate with various groups, teams and leaders across the firm to plan and develop effective communication to achieve desired outcomes.

What You'll Do:

  • Strategic Planning: Leads development and implementation of internal communications strategies that support HNTB's core mission, vision and objectives.
  • Content Creation: Develops engaging and informative content that is consistent with brand messaging for a variety of communications channels including internal, social and web platforms.
  • Analytics: Establishes metrics to regularly assess engagement levels and reach to refine strategies.
  • Internal News: Oversees and manages content for HNTB's internal communications platforms, including company intranet.
  • Market Research: Researches current industry trends and proactively offers guidance on best practices in internal communication approaches.
  • Communications Adviser: Serves as a communications counselor to offer guidance on best practices.
  • Collaboration: Collaborates with team members, freelance writers, videographers, designers, photographers.
  • Budget Management: Creates and manages internal communications budget.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism or related field and 8 years corporate communications or agency experience, or
  • In lieu of education, 12 years of relevant experience

What You'll Bring:

  • Excellent writing skills including expert knowledge of AP Style
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Teamwork/collaboration
  • Ability to manage and work with a network of freelancers
  • Highly organized and deadline driven
  • Be a self-starter who possesses creativity and can-do attitude
  • Experience interacting and working with senior level leadership
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and in a timely manner
