Job description

HFI Management ("HFIM") is currently seeking a IT Infrastructure & Collaboration Intern based in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
HFIM is the administrative and sales support division of the Brad Hall family of companies. HFIM supports companies in fuel and lube distribution, propane sales, retail fuel stations, oil field services farming, fuel transportation and other industries. The family of Companies does business in the Western United States and supplies fuel to over 40 states.
The IT Infrastructure & Collaboration Intern will primarily be focused on:
Active Directory Optimization
  • Review existing Active Directory security and distribution groups.
  • Identify duplicate, obsolete, and unused groups.
  • Consolidate groups into a streamlined Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) model.
  • Document group memberships, permissions, and recommended changes.
  • Assist with implementing role-based security groups to improve administration and security.

SharePoint Cleanup and Consolidation
  • Inventory existing SharePoint sites, pages, and content.
  • Identify outdated, duplicate, or unused SharePoint pages.
  • Analyze site usage and engagement metrics.
  • Work with department stakeholders to determine business requirements.
  • Consolidate content and recommend improvements to site organization and navigation

Microsoft Teams Governance
  • Audit existing Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 Groups.
  • Identify inactive, duplicate, or redundant Teams.
  • Recommend consolidation and standardization strategies.
  • Assist with developing naming conventions and governance policies.
  • Improve collaboration structure while reducing unnecessary Teams sprawl.

Documentation & Reporting
  • Create detailed documentation of findings and recommendations.
  • Maintain project tracking and status updates.
  • Present progress reports to IT leadership.
  • Assist with developing long-term governance standards for Microsoft 365 services.

The preferred candidate for the Benefits Administrator will have the following:
  • Pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to document processes and communicate effectively.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
