Location: Fair Lawn, NJ (Onsite) Department: Alliance Performance, part of Alliance Health Systems Schedule: Part-Time Internship (10-20 hours per week)

Position Overview
This internship is ideal for a graduate student or aspiring clinician/scientist who is passionate about human performance, exercise physiology, and data analytics.
The intern will play a critical role in organizing, structuring, and uploading performance testing data into a consumable platform used by coaches, clinicians, and clients. This role directly contributes to how we monitor progress, measure outcomes, and improve performance over time.
You will work closely with performance specialists and clinical teams to ensure testing data is accurate, organized, meaningful, and actionable.
This is an onsite role (10-20 hours weekly) with exposure to real-world performance science in a healthcare and athletic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Performance Data Management
โ€ข Organize, structure, and upload 50-100 weekly performance assessments into designated reporting and analytics platforms
โ€ข Maintain accurate and timely records of monthly retesting data for returning clients
โ€ข Ensure performance testing results are standardized, clean, and consumable for coaches and clients
โ€ข Track client progress across testing cycles and assist in maintaining longitudinal performance records
โ€ข Support quality control and data integrity for all uploaded assessments
Performance Science Support
โ€ข Assist in interpreting and categorizing performance metrics across:
  • Cardiovascular and metabolic performance
  • Aerobic and anaerobic energy systems
  • VO2 and metabolic efficiency concepts
  • Fatigue thresholds and conditioning metrics
  • Force production and power output
  • Neuromuscular adaptation and performance readiness
  • Functional movement and biomechanics
  • Functional and sport-specific performance testing

Collaboration & Communication
โ€ข Partner with coaches and performance specialists to gather testing data and ensure accurate documentation
โ€ข Communicate professionally with team members and clients when needed
โ€ข Help identify opportunities to improve data flow, reporting consistency, and testing efficiency
Qualifications
Required
โ€ข Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Human Performance, Sports Science, Biomechanics, or a related field
โ€ข Strong understanding of:
o Cardiovascular and metabolic systems
o Aerobic and anaerobic energy systems
o VO2 concepts and metabolic testing
o Fatigue thresholds and performance adaptation
o Force production and neuromuscular performance
o Movement science and biomechanics
o Functional performance testing
โ€ข Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
โ€ข Excellent verbal and written communication skills
โ€ข Ability to manage repetitive, high-volume data entry with precision and accuracy
โ€ข Strong proficiency with technology, spreadsheets, and data organization
Preferred
โ€ข Prior exposure to sports performance testing, rehabilitation, strength & conditioning, or clinical exercise physiology
โ€ข Experience working with wearable data, performance software, or testing platforms
