The Opportunity


We're looking for an enthusiastic and organized PeopleOperations Intern to join our People & Culture team for an8-month internship. Reporting to the People Operations Business Partner, you'll primarily support the People Operations team while also partnering closely with our People Programs & Experience and Talent Acquisition teams on a variety of initiatives.


This role offers hands-on exposure to the full employee lifecycle, with opportunities to contribute to employee engagement, HR operations, communications, DEI initiatives, campus and early-career programs, recruitment, and other People & Culture projects. You'll gain practical experience across multiple areas of HR while helping deliver an exceptional employee and candidate experience in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.


This internship is ideal for a student or recent graduate interested in building a broad foundation in Human Resources and gaining exposure to multiple People & Culture functions within a growing organization.


The expected hourly base salary range for this role is $23.00 to $30.00, with final hourly salary determined based on experience, skills, education, and internal equity.

As an intern, you'll support a variety of initiatives, including:


Learning, Development & Business Fusion

  • Support the ongoing delivery and evolution of the Business Fusion and AI Enablement program, including training coordination, communications, participant management, and tracking future learning pathways.
  • Assist with Emerging Leaders and other leadership development programs, including scheduling, materials preparation, participant communications, and post-session follow-up.
  • Support organization-wide performance management training initiatives and related learning resources.
  • Assist with training needs analyses by administering surveys, consolidating feedback, and preparing reports and recommendations.


Survey Administration & People Analytics

  • Coordinate the setup, distribution, and administration of surveys through SurveyMonkey and other survey platforms.
  • Support the analysis and reporting of internship, engagement, learning & development, and event-specific survey results.
  • Prepare summaries, presentations, and insights to help inform People & Culture initiatives and decision-making.


External Awards & Employer Recognition

  • Support the research, coordination, and submission of external employer awards and recognition programs, including Great Place to Work, Best Workplaces in Canada, Canada's Top 100 Employers, and other emerging employer branding opportunities.
  • Assist with gathering supporting data, drafting content, coordinating stakeholder input, and tracking award timelines and outcomes.


Rewards & Recognition

  • Support the ongoing enhancement of PICTON's Rewards & Recognition framework and programs.
  • Assist with recognition campaigns, employee awareness initiatives, program communications, and participation tracking.
  • Help administer recognition-related surveys, analyze feedback, and prepare recommendations to improve program effectiveness.


Performance Management

  • Support initiatives related to the ongoing enhancement and modernization of PICTON's performance management processes.
  • Assist with annual performance review cycle planning, process documentation, reporting, communications, and continuous improvement activities.


Events, Collaboration & Team Initiatives

  • Coordinate and support employee engagement activities, learning events, recognition programs, and People & Culture initiatives.
  • Partner with team members and cross-functional stakeholders to help plan and execute internal events and programs.
  • Provide administrative, project coordination, and operational support across People & Culture priorities as required.


Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Support People & Culture projects and strategic initiatives, including process improvements, system enhancements, SharePoint development, reporting improvements, and other department priorities.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve employee experience, operational efficiency, and people-related processes across the organization.


What We're Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in a postsecondary program (HR, Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field preferred)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook); Canva or similar tools are a plus
  • Interest in workplace culture, employee engagement, and DEI
  • Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to pitch in where needed
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
