Assistant General Manager - Hawkins School of Performing Arts - Folsom, CAPosition Summary

Ensemble Performing Arts is seeking a highly organized, motivated, and customer-focused Assistant General Manager to support the daily operations of our growing performing arts school. This leadership role will work closely with the General Manager to oversee administration, staff coordination, student services, scheduling, enrollment, and facility operations.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, a dance background and a passion for arts education.

Key Responsibilities -

Operations & Administration

  • Assist in managing day-to-day school operations across all departments.
  • Ensure front desk, registration, and administrative processes run efficiently.
  • Maintain organized records, databases, and reporting systems.
  • Monitor supplies, inventory, and facility needs.

Staff Leadership & Support

  • Supervise front office and administrative staff.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new team members.
  • Help maintain a positive, professional, and collaborative workplace culture.
  • Support instructors with scheduling, classroom logistics, and communication.

Student & Family Experience

  • Provide exceptional customer service to students and families.
  • Handle inquiries, registrations, billing questions, and concerns professionally.
  • Help improve student retention and enrollment growth.
  • Build strong relationships with families and community members.

Business Development & Marketing Support

  • Assist with promotions, community outreach, and special events.
  • Support recital production logistics, showcases, and performances.
  • Track KPIs including enrollment, attendance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems and profitability.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2+ years management or assistant management experience.
  • Strong leadership and team supervision skills.
  • Excellent customer service and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficient with technology and quick to learn new systems.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Some dance experience and background

Preferred:

  • Work experience in education, performing arts, dance studio, music school, or youth programs.
  • Event planning or recital production experience.
  • Knowledge of enrollment systems and family-based service businesses.
