The Hamburg Area School District is currently seeking candidates to fill the following positions:
  • Percussion / Drumline Instructor (Stipend position: $1,000 per year)

Responsibilities:
  • Attendance at August Band Camp, football season, and various parades/events.
  • Introduce and further develop the techniques of percussion ensemble playing/front ensemble performance and musical knowledge to groups of students whose skills range from intermediate to advanced.
  • Instruct and provide feedback to students and staff during ensemble rehearsals, as well as in sectional rehearsals
  • Interact with students, parents, and other staff in a professional manner
  • Attend staff meetings and maintain open communication with staff members/director
  • Convey a standard of excellence during rehearsals, football games, additional events
  • Maintain equipment and make minor repairs, as needed.

Experience:
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience teaching marching techniques and basics and percussion (battery and pit) technique and pedagogy.
  • Must have had experience performing with a college or university marching band drum line.
  • An earned Bachelor's Degree from a college or university is not required, but preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to work with high school students of varying ability levels.

Time Frame:
  • August 2024 to June 2025
