Title of Position- Electrical Project Designer:

Design West Engineering is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to be a part of our growing team based out of our San Bernardino, CA office. As an Electrical Project Designer at Design West Engineering, you will have the opportunity to apply your design expertise to exciting and challenging projects while working under the supervision of top engineers in the Architectural, Engineering and Construction industry. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 4 years of experience as an Electrical Designer, Revit and AutoCAD experience, have excellent communication and time management skills, work well in a team environment, be familiar with commonly used business codes, and will be proficient with Microsoft Office.


Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Revit
  • Excellent communication skills
  • 4 years of experience as a Project Designer in Electrical Engineering for building power and lighting systems
  • Possess a working knowledge of building codes, NEC, and CA Title 24 requirements.
  • Comfortable working in an office environment
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team.
  • Must have excellent time management skills to meet project deadlines.


Desired Qualifications:

  • 6 or more years of experience as a Project Designer in Electrical Engineering
  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering
  • EIT. PE License or demonstrated progress toward these goals.
  • LEED AP or other relevant certifications


Job duties will include:

  • Design of electrical power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and lighting control systems for a variety of project types
  • Perform routine calculations such as sizing distribution equipment, feeders, and branch circuits.
  • Generate equipment schedules and code compliance documentation.
