Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a growing team specializing in commercial and public works construction projects. This role is responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, managing bid submissions, pricing change orders, and supporting project managers throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have strong estimating experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate and complete electrical estimates for commercial and public works projects.

  • Perform quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and project specifications.

  • Develop detailed bids using industry-standard estimating software.

  • Review plans and specifications to identify scope gaps, risks, and cost-saving opportunities.

  • Coordinate pricing with subcontractors, vendors, and material suppliers.

  • Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals while tracking bid outcomes.

  • Price and manage change orders for active construction projects.

  • Support project managers with cost tracking, vendor coordination, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.

  • Ensure a smooth transition from estimating to project operations.

  • Maintain organized estimating files and documentation while meeting project deadlines.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3+ years of electrical estimating experience, preferably on commercial construction projects.

  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

  • Experience preparing complete project estimates independently.

  • Hands-on experience pricing and managing change orders.

  • Strong communication and coordination skills with project teams, vendors, and subcontractors.
