Vishay Barry is currently seeking applicants for a Supply Chain Intern.Job Location: Attleboro, MAThe Supply Chain Intern will support a short-term operational improvement initiative within the stockroom and materials function. The primary focus of this position is to assist in the development and implementation of a standardized alphanumeric location systemfor the site's stockroom and related inventory storage areas.This role will provide hands-on support in organizing, mapping, labeling, and documenting stockroom locations to improve material visibility, inventory accuracy, retrieval efficiency, and overall stockroom control. The intern will work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, and Stockroom personnel to ensure the location structure is logical, sustainable, and aligned with business needs. Pay is $18-$22 an hour.What you will be doing:
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of a standardized alphanumeric location system for the stockroom and designated inventory storage areas.
  • Support the physical mapping of racks, shelves, bins, and other storage points to establish an organized and clearly defined location structure.
  • Help identify current inventory placement and compare physical storage conditions against existing records and material organization practices.
  • Prepare, apply, and maintain labels, signage, and visual controls to support stockroom identification and material location accuracy.
  • Create and update spreadsheets, trackers, and related documentation to support stockroom mapping and location assignment activities.
  • Partner with stockroom, supply chain, and operations personnel to validate location logic and ensure practical usability of the system.
  • Identify discrepancies, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improved stockroom organization and material flow.
  • Maintain accurate records of progress, completed locations, open issues, and recommended improvements.
  • Follow established safety, housekeeping, and workplace standards while working in stockroom and production support areas.
  • Perform other duties or project-related assignments as directed by management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior internship, warehouse, stockroom, inventory, or manufacturing experience.
  • Familiarity with inventory control concepts, material flow, or ERP systems.
  • Exposure to Lean, 5S, or other workplace organization and process improvement methodologies.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk throughout the facility, stockroom, and storage areas on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods while organizing, labeling, and validating locations.
  • Ability to lift and move light materials, labels, and stockroom-related items as needed.
Working ConditionsThis position will be performed in a manufacturing environment and will include time spent in office, stockroom, and production support areas. Appropriate adherence to company safety policies and site requirements is expected at all times.Position ObjectiveAt the conclusion of the 90-day assignment, the Supply Chain Intern is expected to have provided meaningful support in establishing a structured and sustainable alphanumeric location system that improves stockroom organization, inventory visibility, and material retrieval efficiency.What you will bring along:
  • Currently pursuing, or recently completed, an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to manage data accurately and maintain organized project documentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated initiative, dependability, and willingness to work in a hands-on environment.
