The Night Intermodal Operations Supervisor plays a key role in overseeing Intermodal Mexicoโ€™s terminal and yard operations during the overnight shift. This position ensures the safe, efficient, and timely transfer of containers between rail and truck, maintaining smooth coordination between drivers, dispatch, and maintenance teams. The supervisor manages nightly workflow, monitors equipment and container movement, enforces safety and compliance standards, and ensures accurate communication between day and night shifts. This role is critical in supporting Intermodal Mexicoโ€™s commitment to operational excellence, safety, and service reliability across cross-border and domestic freight operations.

Will include nights and week (nights).ย 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.ย  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Must be fluent (oral, audibly, and written) in English & Spanish.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, including executive.
  • Leadership and the ability to motivate employees.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple, and often, competing obligations.ย 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word.ย 
  • Able to plan labor needs in advance.ย 
  • Intermodal or management experience a plus, but willing to invest and train the right individuals.
  • Strong knowledge and focus on safety and compliance with the ability to consult with and train staff on the subject.ย 
  • Strong desire to train and upskill team members.ย 
  • Applicants must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays that fall on your rotation.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent required.ย  A.A./A.S. Degree preferred, but not required.ย  Intermodal and/or railroad experience a plus.ย

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.ย  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.ย  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as data associated with overhaul, periodic maintenance and supplier contracts.ย  Ability to evaluate technical information associated with Component parts engineering reports and analysis.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must have moderate degree of computer skills in Windows operating systems; internet communications; and proficiently use Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel programs.ย  Must also have ability to learn and utilize skills necessary to optimize AS 400 modules and resources as well as other applicable software programs.
