JOPES Specialist

The JOPES Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the rapid movement of personnel, equipment, and cargo via air, sea, rail, and highway transportation. This role supports deployment, sustainment, and redeployment operations through the effective use of the Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES).

Duties and Responsibilities

Deployment and Distribution:
Plan, coordinate, and oversee unit movement operations to ensure the efficient and secure transportation of personnel, equipment, and supplies.

Logistics Planning:
Manage transportation and distribution activities, including intermodal operations, terminal and port coordination, and highway transportation.

Operational Support:
Collaborate within the Joint Logistics Enterprise to coordinate movement operations with multinational partners, government agencies, and commercial transportation providers.

Documentation and Safety:
Oversee the preparation, verification, and validation of movement documentation while ensuring compliance with all applicable safety regulations and operational standards.

Requirements

  • Active Secret Security Clearance required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or a related field required.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with the Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES) required.
