Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step Down (IMCU) position at a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and a background in high-volume hospital environments.

Details
  • Position is in a 16-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) on the 5J-Intermediate unit
  • Patient population includes sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, substance abuse, and encephalopathy
  • Experience managing heparin drips is required for this unit
  • Patient ratio is 1:4
  • Night shift, 12 hours per shift, 4 shifts per week
  • Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
  • Block scheduling is generally not approved
Requirements
  • Active RN license — GA state or compact license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Experience in high-acuity, high-volume hospital environments is required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
  • Demonstrated ability to manage critical, fast-paced clinical situations
