Job description

Description:

Phoenix Systems is growing and we are looking for an experienced Audio/Video installation technician to join our amazing team in South Carolina. This position will report to the Charleston, SC office and will support business in Bluffton, Hilton Head Island, Charleston, and the surrounding areas.


Candidates will need to reside in Bluffton/Hilton Head or between Charleston and Bluffton/Hilton Head.


Candidates should be self-motivated, personable and of good character. You should be passionate about the design and installation of residential smart home automation systems, home theater rooms, security, networking, shades, and all about providing world class service to our high-end clients.


Starting salary between $22 and $26 per hour.

Anticipated start date of this position is September 28, 2026. 

Requirements:


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs service, installation, and activation of security systems, surround sound systems, system components, speakers, TV hangs, shades, and remote controls.
  • Identify and repair security system malfunctions and false alarms
  • Troubleshoot and repair existing wiring installed for Phone/Data/Intercom/Security/WAP’s/Basic Audio/Cameras/etc.
  • Learn and understand security systems Phoenix Systems installs and services (2Gig, DSC, QOLSYS, Etc.)
  • Handle installation of networking requirements for Routers, Switches, DVR’s, Network Components, WAP’s, etc.
  • Learn and understands monitoring protocol with Phoenix/Monitoring Station/Primary Responders for alarms
  • Communicate with customers to review work orders,
  • Provide instruction/training to customers/end user on the system functions and operations
  • Accurately assess system design and functionality when adding additional components
  • Handle after hours emergency service calls (as assigned on a rotation basis)
  • Communicate pricing for monitoring rate tiers to customers
  • Install, setup and train homeowners on AV component packages.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with all aspects of Security and Audio/Video Installations - From pre-wire to trim to final installation and programming
  • Have in depth knowledge of security systems operation, functions, and wiring requirements
  • Understands cable types and technologies and can distinguish which types to use in installation scenarios
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work in a clean and unobtrusive manner
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within standard accepted practices.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain basic tools to perform job responsibilities.
  • Must be able to clear a background check and drug screening
  • Clear MVR required
  • Technical or Vocational related schooling is preferred


Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk, and hear.
  • Frequent use of step ladders and extension ladders
  • Frequent amount of lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds
