Job description

Position Summary

Teledata Technologies is seeking an experienced Physical Security Systems Technician to configure, program, commission, integrate, and troubleshoot physical security systems. The Systems Division serves as a specialized technical resource for Teledata's project teams. When this expertise is required, Systems Technicians are deployed across projects to support configuration, commissioning, and other technical needs. This position does not manage the overall project or direct installation personnel.

Primary Responsibilities

•  Configure and program physical security hardware, software, servers, databases, controllers, cameras, workstations, and connected devices.

•  Commission systems and verify device communication, recording, access-control functions, alarms, intercom operation, analytics, and integrations.

•  Coordinate assigned technical work with Project Managers and the Systems Field Supervisor.

•  Identify and document installation or infrastructure deficiencies that prevent successful configuration or commissioning, and communicate corrective requirements to the Project Manager.

•  Diagnose hardware, software, network, database, communication, and integration problems.

•  Provide technical assistance to other Teledata personnel when requested.

•  Maintain accurate programming files, system backups, device records, test results, commissioning checklists, and service notes.

•  Support customer demonstrations, training, acceptance testing, and system turnover.

•  Protect customer credentials, network information, programming files, and other sensitive system information.

Experience with every platform used by Teledata is not required. Candidates should have hands-on programming, commissioning, or troubleshooting experience with at least one recognized physical security product line.

Minimum Qualifications

•  Five or more years of relevant hands-on experience is preferred. Applicable college education, technical training, manufacturer training, or military experience may be considered in place of a portion of the experience requirement.

•  Strong understanding of physical security system configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

•  Working knowledge of IP addressing, subnetting, network communication, PoE, and basic network troubleshooting.

•  Ability to read drawings, wiring diagrams, device schedules, specifications, and manufacturer documentation.

•  Strong technical documentation and communication skills.

•  Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

•  Ability to complete and pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

•  Manufacturer certifications in surveillance, access control, intrusion, intercom, or networking.

•  Experience commissioning integrated physical security systems.

•  Familiarity with Milestone XProtect, Hanwha WAVE, Axis, LenelS2 OnGuard, DMP, 2N, or comparable platforms.

•  Experience with servers, databases, virtual machines, and managed networks.

Physical Requirements

•  Ability to work at customer sites, equipment rooms, and active construction sites.

•  Ability to use ladders or lifts when required to inspect, test, aim, or commission devices.

•  Ability to lift and carry computers, testing equipment, tools, and related materials.

•  Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
