The Security Installation Technician is primarily responsible for installing and replacing alarm, camera, and access systems. A desired candidate is fully confident in their installation and programming skills, works effectively and professionally with little supervision, has management and leadership ability with his team, excellent communication skills, and is consistently looking out for the customer's best interest.
Responsibilities
Install security systems per provided job scopes and drawings
Install and service access control systems
Install and service IP based camera systems
Install and service alarm systems
Work efficiently as a lead technician on the team to install systems
Responsible for reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
Effectively communicate equipment issues and potential solutions on work performed to customers
Explain and train customers on effective utilization of equipment and/ or systems
Efficiently and accurately update and complete customer files, including but not limited to customer contacts, work orders, parts utilized, and work performed
Promptly and professionally respond to customer questions and concerns
Understand and maintain compliance with company and customer safety program
Maintain all applicable certifications for necessary products serviced by company
Ability to lead, train, mentor and/ or coach less experienced technicians
Perform other related duties as assigned or required
Requirements
Valid driver's license
High School Diploma/ GED
5+ years security technician work experience
Commercial experience
Able to work flexible hours including after-hours, nights, and weekends
Able to travel to multiple job sites each day
Fully proficient in alarm, access control and IP camera systems
Access control installation and servicing experience
Experience with installation of controller, reader, contact, REX and electrified door hardware
Commercial alarm system installation & servicing experience - knowledge in Burg, DMP, Honeywell and DSC systems a plus
Camera system installation & servicing experience, including network camera systems
CAT5/6 network termination skills
High precision/ detail-oriented
Professional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently, with little supervision
Ability to lead a team on larger jobs
Works effectively and efficiently while performing all aspects of the required job
Preferred
DMP training
IP/Network knowledge
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
