Job Summary:
SpaceX is actively developing technologies to enable human life on Mars, and they are seeking a Business Operations Analyst within the Starlink program. This role involves developing advanced insights and actionable data to advise business leaders on operational needs, and creating effective solutions through data analysis.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain advanced data analysis tools, interactive dashboards, and tracking systems to analyze operational performance, historical trends, and emerging patterns across Starlink Aviation internal processes and functions
• Anticipate and identify operational challenges and opportunities through rigorous data analysis, determine root causes, and develop data-backed solutions for immediate mitigation as well as long-term strategic improvement and prevention
• Take complex internal data sets and build insightful, powerful narratives using Excel, dashboards, and PowerPoint to communicate findings, trends, and recommendations to internal business leaders and stakeholders
• Partner with cross-departmental internal teams (including commercial, finance, industrial design, engineering, application software, production, test, inventory, quality, and supply chain) to gather data, synchronize efforts, and create tight internal feedback loops for continuous operational improvement
• Partner with all levels of leadership within the organization to develop and review potential projects, steer allocation of improvement resources, and ensure sustainability of implemented solutions based on data-driven insights
• Manage analytical projects and execute to tight timelines while effectively communicating to and influencing internal stakeholders
• Codify knowledge and best practices of internal systems and processes, actively ensuring these documents and practices are updated and maintained
• Drive positive business outcomes across disciplines including commercial, engineering, production, test, inventory, quality, and supply chain by delivering actionable insights that support strategic decision-making
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, mathematics, economics, or a STEM field
• 3+ years of experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, operations
• Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
Preferred:
• Background in strategy consulting or investment banking industry
• Extremely proficient with Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, VBA/macros), data analysis, building interactive dashboards, and PowerPoint
• Proven ability to take complex data sets and build insightful and powerful narratives that drive decision-making
• Strong track record of creating credibility with internal stakeholders and senior leadership through data-driven insights and presentations
• Experience driving cross-functional change within large organizations
• Strong project management skills and ability to lead projects that require influencing without authority
• Experience applying structured analytical and process improvement methodologies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make compelling presentations to engineers, team members, and management
