Duration: 6 Months

Role Summary
We are seeking an experiencedย Principal Integration Consultantย to assess our clients'' current integration landscapes, provide target-state architecture recommendations, establish governance frameworks, and define strategic roadmaps for integration modernization and platform consolidation.
This is a senior-level consulting and advisory role focused heavily onย architecture assessment, platform evaluation, Center of Excellence (CoE) establishment, cost optimization, and enterprise automation strategyย rather than hands-on, daily development. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business objectives and complex, hybrid technology estates, laying the foundation for a scalable, connected enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
1. Integration Assessment & Modernization Strategy
  • Enterprise Assessment:ย Conduct comprehensive enterprise integration assessments across API, application, event-driven, and process automation landscapes.
  • Architecture & Gap Analysis:ย Review current-state integration architectures, operating models, and alignment with modern digital standards.
  • Platform Consolidation:ย Evaluate diverse middleware ecosystems to develop recommendations for platform consolidation, rationalization, and modernization.
  • Roadmap Definition:ย Create target-state integration architectures and phased migration roadmaps aligned with corporate business strategies and hybrid cloud environments.
2. CoE Frameworks & Enterprise Governance
  • CoE Establishment:ย Define the charter, operational frameworks, and organizational structure to set up a sustainableย Integration Center of Excellence (CoE).
  • Governance Modeling:ย Establish rigorous integration and API governance frameworks, design standards, security protocols, and discoverability/reusability metrics.
  • Cost Optimization:ย Identify concrete opportunities to reduce operational complexities, licensing overheads, and underlying platform spend through smart rationalization.
3. Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Comparative Analysis:ย Provide rigorous, objective comparative analyses of integration platforms to recommend fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Executive Advisory:ย Facilitate stakeholder workshops and present findings, strategic architectural options, and executive-level roadmaps to C-suite and technical leadership.
Technical Competencies & Platform Knowledge
The candidate must bring a deep conceptual and architectural understanding of multi-platform ecosystems, including:
Capability Area
Targeted Technology & Paradigms
Integration Platforms
Deep architectural familiarity withย MuleSoft Anypoint,ย IBM Cloud Pak for Integrationย (App Connect, MQ, API Connect), andย SAP PI/PO / SAP Integration Suite (CPI).
Event-Driven Architecture
Strategic deployment ofย Apache Kafka, Confluent, or traditional enterprise messaging (IBM MQ, RabbitMQ) for real-time automation.
Automation & Orchestration
Core understanding of Process Automation (BPM/RPA), API-led connectivity, microservices architectures, and service meshes.
Enterprise Environments
Integration experience within massive enterprise application environments involving ERPs (specificallySAP), Supply Chain systems, and OMS.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Experience:ย 15+ years of experience in Enterprise Integration, Integration Architecture, or Technology Consulting.
  • CoE & Transformation Track Record:ย Proven experience establishing an Integration CoE and driving large-scale integration modernization, platform consolidation, or cloud-migration initiatives.
  • Consulting & Advisory Mindset:ย Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills. Ability to confidently guide technical conflicts and articulate technology ROI to business headers.
  • Hybrid & Multi-Cloud Landscape:ย Strong understanding of security, network topologies, and delivery patterns across hybrid architectures (On-Premises, Private, and Public Cloud).
  • Education:ย Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related business-technical field.
Key Deliverables Expected from this Role
  • Current-State Assessment:ย Thorough audit of the existing integration landscape, limitations, and tech debt.
  • Architecture Review & Gap Analysis:ย Deep-dive evaluation of structural bottlenecks against future scalability goals.
  • Platform Evaluation & Comparison:ย Comprehensive matrix comparing tools like IBM, MuleSoft, Kafka, and SAP for future-state fit.
  • CoE & Governance Framework:ย Complete blueprint for the charter, design standards, security baselines, and operating models.
  • Integration Consolidation Strategy:ย Actionable plan to reduce platform footprint and optimize licensing/operational costs.
  • Target-State Architecture & Phased Modernization Roadmap:ย Multi-phase blueprint outlining the transition steps toward modern API-led and Event-Driven operations.
