About the role
Integration Managers play a crucial role within the Hardware Integrations team. The Integration Manager (also referred to as "Build Manager") manages the complete scope of a build-in accordance with a customer contract or internal project scope document-from kickoff thru commissioning and transition to customer. This person is responsible for ensuring assigned builds are completed within targets related to:
  • Scope
  • Schedule
  • Budget
  • Quality Parameters

Integration Managers lead build teams consisting primarily of engineers and technicians during the conduct of builds. These resources are assigned based on the skills that the Integration Manager determines after careful analysis of the scope and contract documents and then requested from the Technical Resources Manager. Integration Managers report to the Director of HW Integration and function in direct support of program teams who serve as internal customers during builds. Integration Managers continuously coordinate with functional areas across Operations and Engineering and rely on expert understanding of manufacturing best-practices, workflows, and processes-including the Forterra Business Management System (BMS)-to ensure the success of each build.
What you'll do
  • Manage all aspects of manufacturing / build from kickoff thru customer turnover
  • Manage customer contract from initial analysis thru final invoicing and warranty transition
  • Understand and apply the Forterra BMS and program development lifecycle tools
  • Manage and report on status of scope, schedule, budget, quality for all builds assigned
  • Ensure efficient resource allocation and utilization
  • Drive safety best-practices within manufacturing team
  • Coordinate with adjacent and supporting teams across the organization to ensure success of each build and Forterra's customers
  • General Management Responsibilities:
    • Track and regularly report on utilization and readiness of personnel and equipment
    • Teach, coach, mentor junior resources
    • Lead teams and develop skills of resources assigned
    • Cultivate strong professional connections across the company
    • Ensure processes and procedures comply with SMS, ISO9001, and all other standard-based certifications in place at the company

Minimum Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering or related Business / Manufacturing OR equivalent years of work experience
  • Experience managing manufacturing operations or technical projects
  • Proven leadership / management experience
  • Familiarity with project / operations management approaches, environments, procedures
  • Proficiency with software applications to develop and maintain schedules
  • Proficiency with software applications to develop and maintain budgets
  • Understanding of ISO 9001:2015
  • Experience assessing and managing risks using standard/structured processes
  • Experience using or managing procurement and other business systems
  • Familiarity with integrated software-hardware products
  • Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-changing environments - with
    frequent travel to field sites
  • Critical thinking skills and strong documentation habits

Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification
  • Understanding of DoD processes, product lifecycles, and business systems (specifically NetSuite)
  • Experience with JIRA or similar issue-tracking tools
  • Exposure to safety-critical standards (e.g., ISO 26262)

US Salary Range
$100,000 - $135,000

5 Days / Week On-Site in Clarksburg, MD
The salary range for this role is an estimate and is based on a wide variety of compensation factors. The salary offered to candidates will vary based on a variety of factors including (but not limited to) relevant work experience, education, specialized training, critical expertise, training, and more. Equity in Forterra is included in most of our full-time, high-demand roles and is therefore considered part of Forterra's overall compensation package. In addition to base salary and equity, Forterra offers competitive benefits for full-time employees including:
