Associate General Counsel

Interra Health

Boston, MA • Remote

$127K - $170K/yr

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, PTO

Job description

Who We Are:
Interra Health is a fast-growing healthcare technology company transforming how providers and patients navigate the prescription journey. Formed through the merger of DoseSpot, Arrive Health, and pVerify, Interra Health delivers trusted eligibility, real-time coverage and pricing insights, prescribing tools, and pharmacy transparency at the point of care—helping providers make informed decisions and patients access the right medications with greater clarity and affordability. Backed by strong market momentum and a bold vision for the future of connected care, Interra Health offers the chance to join an innovative, mission-driven team working at the intersection of software and healthcare to reduce friction, improve access, and make the healthcare experience better for everyone.

The Role:

Interra Health is building a high-performing, AI-forward legal function to support a fast-growing healthcare SaaS business. The Associate General Counsel will serve as a key operational partner on the Legal team, owning the execution of level-one legal work — including business associate agreements and other standard contracts — while simultaneously designing and managing the systems that make the legal function run.

This role is equal parts practitioner and operator: you will handle substantive legal matters while building the intake, tracking, and reporting infrastructure that scales the team's capacity. This is a net-new role, and the right candidate will have a strong foundation in healthcare or highly regulated industry law, a fluency with GTM teams, and a genuine appetite for building.

What you'll do:

  • Review, negotiate, and execute level-one legal work, including business associate agreements (BAAs), NDAs, vendor contracts, and other standard commercial instruments.

  • Own and administer the legal operations ecosystem, including intake tooling (Ironclad, Fresh service or equivalents), workflow automation, and document management. Major plus if the applicant has experience designing and implementing Ironclad capabilities with a lens on efficient contract management.

  • Design and maintain a KPI and SLA dashboard that gives the General Counsel real-time visibility into legal team throughput, cycle times, and open matters.

  • Build and optimize the legal request intake process, ensuring clear routing, prioritization, and SLA accountability across the organization.

  • Serve as the primary liaison for conflict checks and matter management with outside counsel, ensuring clear communication among stakeholders.

  • Responsibility for transitioning disparate information sources into selected records management systems to ensure that documents are organized, version-controlled, and audit-ready.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Sales (GTM), and the Salesforce admin to support contracting workflows and commercial deal cycles.

  • Serve as an internal champion for AI adoption within the Legal function — identifying opportunities to leverage AI tools for contract review, research, drafting, and operations, and supporting implementation in partnership with the broader Interra AI initiative.

  • Support the General Counsel on ad hoc legal matters, research, and projects as the team and company scale.

What you'll bring:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; active bar membership required.

  • 5+ years of legal experience, preferably in healthcare, health tech, or another highly regulated industry.

  • Exemplary attention to detail with strong project development and management skills with an eye to efficiency.

  • Demonstrated experience working with GTM teams preferred. You understand commercial deal cycles, can partner effectively with Sales and Customer Success, and know how to move contracts without slowing down the business.

  • Working knowledge of healthcare regulatory frameworks, including HIPAA, BAAs, and data use / data privacy requirements.

  • Experience with or strong appetite for legal operations tooling — intake systems, matter management, workflow automation, and reporting.

  • Proven ability to own work end-to-end: you take something from intake to closed without needing to be chased.

  • Strong written and verbal communicator who can translate legal complexity for non-legal stakeholders clearly and concisely.

  • Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-moving environment where the playbook is still being written.

  • Applicants with a servant leader mentality; problem-solving and collaborative approach are essential.

  • Comfortable with brisk organizational pace and high volume busines

Core Competencies:

  • Knowledge & Application: Applies comprehensive legal expertise independently across healthcare contracts, regulatory compliance, and legal operations. Brings working knowledge of HIPAA, data privacy, and commercial contracting frameworks, and applies that expertise to resolve novel situations without step-by-step guidance.

  • Complexity & Problem Solving: Owns outcomes for assigned matters and operational projects, exercising independent judgment to navigate ambiguity and find practical solutions. Comfortable adapting existing templates and processes to new business contexts, and actively uses AI tools to accelerate research, drafting, and triage.

  • Collaboration & Interaction: Works cross-functionally with Finance, GTM, and operational partners; adapts communication for legal and non-legal audiences alike. Engages occasionally with external customers and vendors on contract matters, representing Interra professionally and practically
