New Beginnings Resale, Holy Childhood of Jesus of Harbor Springs
Employment Type: Part/Full-time with open availability
Location: Harbor Springs, MI
Description:
New Beginnings, a ministry of Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Harbor Springs is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Resale Store Sales Associate to support the daily operations of our resale shop. This role plays a vital part in sustaining New Beginnings mission by generating revenue to support Catholic and supporting those in need while providing excellent customer service and creating a welcoming shopping environment. Hours will be approximately 19-29 hours per week and will vary according to business need. Shifts will correspond with open store hours: Monday-Saturday 8:30am to 5:30pm. Open Availability means being available Monday through Saturday from 8:30am to 5:30pm. We close on Sundays.
Job summary:
This employee will be a key member of the Resale Store team, focused on service to the customers, clients and donors, cashiering and restocking merchandise as well as handling donations and various other warehouse duties.
Primary duties:
Provide customer and donor assistance throughout the store: answer questions, anticipate customer's needs, offer help, and encourage sales and may include:
  • Operate a cash register
  • Maintain dressing rooms, keeping them neat and clean
  • Keep the restrooms and break areas clean
  • Intake of donations via timely, positive interactions with donors
  • Restock merchandise on floor
  • Keep merchandise clean and in the most saleable condition
  • Sorting donations into correct department
  • Organizing back room spaces
  • Pricing donations
  • Stocking shelves with sorted and priced product
  • Able to take directions from management and assist where needed
  • Must be neat and organized and take initiative to keep store clean

Essential requirements:
  • MUST be available to work Mon - Sat 8:30am to 5:30pm … 6-8 hour varying shifts
  • Punctual and work required shifts consistently
  • Ability to stand, lift, pull, push or transfer up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Able to deal with the public in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Capable of performing all job functions, including sales work, performing cleaning duties, stocking
