Job description

The Assistant Manager - Access oversees daily access and scheduling operations to improve patient access and enhance referring provider, clinician, and patient satisfaction across the Health System. This role ensures the team meets performance standards related to scheduling accuracy, patient access, referral management, insurance verification, pre-authorizations, medical records collection, and demographic/financial data capture.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing and monitoring access team performance to meet operational and service standards.
  • Developing and optimizing workflows for scheduling, referrals, records collection, insurance authorization, and appointment tracking.
  • Collaborating with Access, Revenue Cycle, and Epic teams to support process improvement, workflow redesign, and operational implementation.
  • Partnering with clinic leadership and providers to understand operational needs and improve access workflows across clinical areas.
  • Supporting implementation of Access standards, operational initiatives, and process improvements.
  • Identifying and removing operational barriers to improve efficiency and performance outcomes.
  • Building collaboration and consensus among clinical and operational leaders to support key initiatives and decisions.
  • Monitoring access and work queue metrics, identifying improvement opportunities, and ensuring timely resolution of operational issues.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent required.Associate's Degree Preferred.
Experience: 3 years relevant experience
Licensure: None required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires sitting for prolonged periods; Repetitive motion: computer keyboard activity. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull less than 20lbs.
The starting base rate for this role is $73,444.80 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
