Position Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of assigned jobs from notice to start, until final approval is received, and the job is closed. This must be accomplished safely, to specifications, within budget, on time, and to the satisfaction of the customer. The Project Manager will also monitor safety programs with special emphasis on job site safety. The role will require continuous engagement with clients daily requiring a high level of business acumen. The ability and desire to work with team members to succeed in a common goal is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the activities of the Sales and Marketing/Product Development Departments.
  • Provide technical guidance to internal & external customers.
  • Support preparation of ‘Budgetary’ and ‘Firm’ proposals.
  • Conduct/manage specification review to develop/confirm scope of work including exceptions & clarifications.
  • Develop cost estimates (material & labor).
  • Develop project schedule.
  • Support review of contractual terms & conditions.
  • Lead and coordinate design engineering, procurement, manufacturing operations, quality, safety, and other supporting functions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage internal project team and project activities.
  • Manage internal & external project meetings (project status, design review, execution planning, etc.).
  • Direct customer point of contact managing project execution.
  • Manage project setup and maintenance within the company ERP system.
  • Develop and manage project schedule, progress and forecast.
  • Responsible for change control management on assigned projects.
  • Responsible for project reporting and presentations both internally and externally.
  • Manage planning and execution of customer acceptance testing and supporting documentation.
  • Customer single point of contact on all project issues.
  • Responsible for managing customer satisfaction.
  • Support corporate initiatives.
  • Support and participate in safety procedures and initiatives.
  • Support quality process and initiatives.
  • Support and participate in continuous improvement process.
  • Provide input for performance evaluations of project team members.
  • Execute other tasks as assigned.
  • Ability to travel when required.
  • Will play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunity.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Biotech Eng., Chem. E., ME, or Metallurgical/Materials Eng.).
  • 7–10 years of post-graduate professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years involving project management responsibilities.
  • Able to develop detailed cross functional schedules utilizing Microsoft Project.
  • Able to read and interpret AutoCAD P&ID Drawings.
  • Able to work with controls engineers to ensure the mechanical system installed will function properly.
  • A successful candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, be able to work well with a team, as well as be self-reliant and independent when necessary.
  • Awareness of and prior experience with implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) a plus.
  • Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus.
