Job description

Physician Opportunity: Hematology & Oncology Program Manager – Sign-On Bonus & EDRP Authorized! Location: Salisbury, NC

Join the Salisbury VA Healthcare System! We're hiring a dedicated full-time Hematology Oncology Program Manager to provide exceptional care for our veterans.

The Hematology/Oncology Program Manager at the Salisbury VA HealthCare Center will support the Section Chief of Hematology and Oncology in overseeing operations across Salisbury, Charlotte, and Kernersville. Key duties include serving as the Director for Infusion Services, ensuring comprehensive infusion services, and developing standardized processes across all sites. The Program Manager will supervise the oncology navigation core, ensuring the quality of navigation and workload management. They will act as the Chief of Hematology and Oncology in the Section Chief's absence, lead quality improvement initiatives, and support administrative tasks from the ACOS of Medicine and the Section Chief. The role involves strategic and operational leadership, oversight of consult services, supervision of trainees, and advancing education and research as a clinician-educator-research faculty member.

Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is impossible to recruit qualified citizens, in accordance with VA Policy.

Education: A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine is required.

Licensure: Candidates must possess a current, complete, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state, territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.

Residency: Completion of a residency program in an accredited core specialty.

Board Certification: Candidates must be board-certified or board eligible. Must be eligible for academic appointment.

Preferred Experience: ABIM board certification in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology and fellowship training in adult Hematology & Oncology.
Academic Appointment: Faculty appointment at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, commensurate with experience.

Benefits:

Sign On Bonus: Recruitment/Relocation Incentive Authorized

EDRP: Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program.

Salary Range: $350,000-$400,000

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of annual paid time offer per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by V.A.
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State or territory
CME: Possible $2,500 per year reimbursement
Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided
Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM
