Staying current with industry regulations and payer policies also helps prevent errors and ensures timely, accurate posting.

What does an Insurance Payment Poster do?

An Insurance Payment Poster is responsible for accurately recording payments received from insurance companies into a healthcare provider's billing system. They review Explanation of Benefits (EOB) forms, post payments and adjustments, and reconcile accounts to ensure that all payments are correctly applied. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the revenue cycle in medical offices or hospitals. Insurance Payment Posters may also identify discrepancies and follow up on underpayments or denials.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Insurance Payment Poster, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Insurance Payment Poster, you need a solid understanding of medical billing, payment posting procedures, and healthcare reimbursement, often supported by experience in medical office administration or billing.
