Location: Birmingham, AL
Are you an early-career attorney looking to build your litigation skills with a well-established law firm? Our client is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney with 1-3 years of litigation experience to join its growing Birmingham office.
This is an outstanding opportunity to work alongside experienced litigators, gain meaningful courtroom experience, and develop your practice in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. You'll have the opportunity to manage your own caseload while receiving mentorship from seasoned attorneys.
Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda
  • Conduct legal research and develop effective litigation strategies
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances
  • Communicate regularly with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, and the courts
  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to provide exceptional client service
Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active member in good standing with the Alabama State Bar
  • 1-3 years of civil litigation experience (insurance defense experience preferred)
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
