Summary:

We are looking for a highly capable Senior Claims Assistant to join our team and work from either our Los Angeles, Omaha, or Richmond office. We work together in the office five days a weekin order tostrengthen our culture, build team connections, and drive profitability. The position reports to a Claims Support Supervisor, based in Houston. This roleis responsible forproviding robust clerical support to our team of Claims Adjusters working across a wide variety of specialties and providing exceptional customer service to our brokers, claimants, and insureds.

Employees in this roleare required toaccurately record all hours worked andsubmittimesheetsin accordance withcompany policy.Overtime may be assigned as business needsdictate, and employees are expected to work overtime whenrequired.

This is a 100%in-office position. Candidates must be able to work on-site at a designated company office during standard business hours.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Under limited supervision, provide complex clerical supportutilizingin-depth procedures on assignments of higher-level complexity to a nationwide team of claims adjusters and aide infacilitatingtimelyandaccuratemanagement of claims by entering stop/cancel/release of checks, processing cash receipts, work check exceptions, and completion of complex state forms.
  • Responsible for making independent adjustments or recommended enhancements in ad hoc special projectsutilizingrelated businessexpertise. Issues resolved are generalized and typically notimmediatelyevident, but typically not complex and within immediate job area.
  • Keep our claims dataaccurateby inputting data and policy information for new and existing claims.
  • Extensively communicate with our customers and enhance their customer experience by - answering incoming calls, processing electronic mail, preparing written correspondence, and processing outgoing mail.The majority ofeach workday is spent communicating on the telephone.
  • Review each claim for payment, documenting date issued and check number. Researching financials to verify payment information.
  • Coordinate Escheatment process.
  • Review of outstanding checks for various claim systems and review applicable system todetermineif payment is still outstanding and/or returned, prepare letters as needed and document findings inFSITrack.

Qualifications / Experience Required:

  • Advanced knowledge of ServiceCentersystems,policiesand procedures as well as an exceptional customer service focus through:
  • A high school diploma (or equivalent) and six years' prior relevant work experience; or
  • A vocational or technical education with three years of relevant work experience; or
  • A bachelor's degree with one year of relevant work experience.
  • Experience using both Guidewire ClaimsCenter and ImageRight in order to be a proficient user of both systems.
  • Must have good business acumen (i.e. understand how an insurance company works and makes money, including how this role impacts both Argo Group and our customers' ability to be profitable).
  • Highlyaccuratetyping with speed of at least 50 wpm.
  • The ability to communicate clearly on the telephone is crucial.The ability to read, speak, and write English fluently is required.The ability to read, speak, and write Spanish fluently is notrequired, but is a strong plus.
  • Being extremely detail oriented.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize workload while handling multiple tasks and deadlines.

The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.

  • Richmond Pay Range:$61,098 - $ 71,094
  • Chicago Pay Range: $67,218 - $78,438
  • Los Angeles Pay Range: $73,338 - $85,578
