Job description

Description and Requirements
General Description: Provide support to the small commercial lines (Select) producers by completing technical resource related tasks required to secure new business. Assist with the marketing/placement of small business accounts with carriers.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Regional Marketing Specialist to review, input, submit, and document new business submissions in agency management systems.
  • Utilize carrier rating tools to obtain comprehensive and competitive quotes for accounts up to 5k in revenue. Under guidance, complete follow-up calls to carrier underwriters.
  • Under guidance, negotiate terms with carriers on client's behalf.
  • Assist with client's proposal preparation and binding coverage with underwriters.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the sales team.
  • Participate in marketing review meetings to understand client's insurance needs.
  • Build effective relationships with carrier partners.
  • Assist the Regional Marketing Specialist with submission inventory. Includes terms, rates, commission, and carrier responses.
  • With guidance, assist in coordinating carrier engagement meetings.
  • Adhere to the National Code Strategy in assigned region.
  • Keep current with industry, new product information, coverages, and technology.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • 1-2 years of experience in Commercial Property & Casualty. Basic understanding of Property & Casualty insurance coverages, placement, underwriting, and rating concepts.
  • Must hold Property & Casualty insurance license or willing to obtain within six months of hire.
  • Desire to pursue industry designations such as CIC, ARM, AAI, CPCU preferred.
  • Familiarity with Power BI and data analytic tools, including ability to read data.
  • Knowledge of insurance carrier systems for submission and quoting is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate work.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
