The Insurance Account Specialist provides accurate, timely service and operational support for eligibility administration, billing, payment processing and related account services for Ministry Partners and members. Through service excellence and operational precision, the Insurance Account Specialist supports GuideStone's mission, vision, and revenue goals across its life and health coverage offerings. What You'll Do:
Insurance Administration and Account Support
• Review account information, documentation, and transaction details to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely resolution
• Prioritize and accurately process insurance administration transactions, including eligibility management, billing and payment processing, and other activities required to deliver high-quality customer service to insurance clients
• Respond to routine account inquiries and service requests from members, Ministry Partners, and internal teams in a professional and customer-focused manner
Policy, Procedure and Compliance
• Maintain a working knowledge of internal policies, procedures and legal parameters that are specific to Church Health Plans, staying informed as products, systems, and regulatory environments evolve
• Apply established procedures consistently when processing transactions, researching issues, and communicating account-related information
• Adhere to all applicable legal, regulatory, policy, and procedural requirements to ensure compliance and operational integrity
Process Improvement and Department Support
• Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, documentation, and service consistency, and share recommendations with appropriate team members
• Participate in department projects or initiatives as assigned, contributing insight related to daily plan administration and customer needs
Stakeholder Collaboration and Service Experience
• Partner with team members and cross-functional departments to research issues, clarify policy and account details, and support timely and accurate customer outcomes
• Communicate status updates, service needs, and potential concerns clearly to support transparency and alignment across teams
What You'll Need:
• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience in insurance, financial services or a related operational environment
• Strong technical aptitude with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint and GuideStone-specific software applications
• Effective research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions and maintain strong attention to detail
