Overview

PACE Supply is seeking a driven, self-motivated sales professional to join our dynamic Oahu team as an Account Manager!

In this role, you will be responsible for driving profitable sales growth through strategic account management, business development, and the cultivation of strong customer relationships within an assigned territory. As the primary customer-facing sales representative, you will identify and develop new business opportunities, expand existing accounts, increase market share, protect margins, and deliver exceptional service and support. Successful Account Managers are proactive, results-oriented professionals who operate with urgency, professionalism, accountability, and a customer-first mindset. They collaborate closely with branch operations, inside sales teams, divisional specialists, and vendor partners to provide value-added solutions that strengthen customer relationships and drive business growth. This is a field-based sales position that requires regular customer engagement, strong communication and relationship-building skills, self-discipline, and a passion for growing both new and existing business.

Responsibilities

Customer Development & Sales Growth

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, business owners, estimators, purchasing agents, and field personnel
  • Grow sales, gross profit, and market share within assigned accounts and territory
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting and cold calling
  • Increase customer penetration across all PACE Supply divisions and product categories
  • Conduct strategic sales calls focused on customer needs, operational challenges, and business opportunities
  • Educate customers on products, pricing, market conditions, and available solutions
  • Partner with vendors and internal teams to deliver value-added support and solutions

Account Ownership & Customer Support

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts
  • Build long-term customer loyalty through responsiveness, consistency, and follow-through
  • Follow up on quotes, bids, and opportunities with urgency and professionalism
  • Coordinate internally to resolve customer concerns and service issues
  • Monitor competitive activity, account risk, and retention opportunities

Territory & Operational Management

  • Effectively manage territory planning, scheduling, and sales activity
  • Maintain accurate customer notes, pipeline visibility, and account updates
  • Support pricing matrix and communicate pricing updates appropriately
  • Coordinate with purchasing and operations teams regarding inventory and fulfillment challenges
  • Complete sales call log report and communication updates in a timely manner

Continuous Improvement & Market Awareness

  • Develop strong product, industry, and market knowledge
  • Stay informed on competitive activity, pricing pressures, and industry trends
  • Continuously improve sales effectiveness, communication, and customer engagement skills

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of sales, distribution, construction, or related industry experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer systems
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to travel throughout assigned territory

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of plumbing, HVAC, or wholesale distribution sales experience
  • Experience working with contractors and trade professionals
  • Product and application knowledge within the plumbing or mechanical industry
  • Proven success in account growth and business development
  • CRM and sales reporting experience
  • Understanding of pricing strategy and market competitiveness
