Position Title Dental Assistant Instructor FLSA Non-Exempt FT/PT Part Time Hours Per Week Up to 25 Work Schedule Monday-Friday Position Salary Range $44-50 hourly Summary
The Dental Assistant instructor can either lead or support the instructional team in delivering highquality education and handson training to students enrolled in the Dental Assisting program. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about the dental field, enjoys mentoring others, and thrives in a collaborative learning environment.
The instructor works to facilitate classroom activities, lab demonstrations, and student skill development. Responsibilities include instructional preparation, supporting students during lab practice, and helping maintain an organized, safe, and efficient learning environment.
Essential Role Responsibilities
Reinforce concepts taught during classroom and lab instruction.
Guide students through handson clinical exercises, ensuring proper techniques and adherence to safety protocols.
Prepare and organize lab materials, equipment, and supplies for daily lessons.
Monitor student performance and provide constructive feedback to build confidence and competency.
Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant lab environment in alignment with program and regulatory standards.
Complete grading and administrative tasks assigned by the instructor of record.
Model professional behavior consistent with industry expectations, including communication, teamwork, and patient care standards.
Manage LMS Canvas activities, including helping students navigate modules, reinforcing online content, and overseeing assignment completion as outlined in the course structure.
Minimum Education Required Associate's degree Experience Required
  • Dental Assistant certification from an accredited program.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a dental practice or related setting.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for student success.
  • Ability to demonstrate and explain clinical procedures clearly and confidently.
  • Experience in a teaching or mentoring role is preferred but not required.
