Scandinavian Designs - Dania Furniture is looking for a Secondary DC Manager!
Location: 12801 North Tatum Blvd, Phoenix
Position: Exempt / Salary
Job Type: Full time / Permanent!
Pay Wage: Starting at $65,000
What You'll Be Doing
  • Effectively plan, staff, direct, and coordinate activities to maintain efficient storage and flow of materials while maintaining control of inventory assets.
  • Participate in the development of and execute a distribution services plan that ensures all receiving, storage, order fulfillment, inventory control, logistics and assembly functions meet company, financial and customer service goals.
  • Provide "world class" customer service on the phone, in the warehouse and on deliveries.
  • The Secondary DC Manager serves as a substitute driver as needed and observes safe lifting methods if applicable to the location.
  • Design, implement and maintain effective internal schedules and controls to mitigate risks and provide for the movement of merchandise correctly, safely, without damage and on time.
  • Use technology to achieve financial objectives and prioritize employee development, performance metrics and accountability within the warehouse culture.
  • Collaborate as needed to drive optimal productivity; foster an environment in which diverse backgrounds are respected and valued.
  • Work with managers and leadership to supervise the delivery service to ensure that our guidelines and requirements are met and that the "final mile" of service delivers a seamless exceptional customer care experience.
  • Recruit, manage and develop qualified staff ensuring efficient scheduling in support of operations.
  • Train staff in all aspects of warehouse operations including customer service techniques.
  • Provide training for staff on safe loading and unloading methods of product from trucks, racks, cars, and showroom floor and ensure adherence to all safety and accident procedures while on company premises or operating company vehicles or equipment.
  • Delegate work and/or performing work individually and follow up to make sure projects are completed.
  • Use computer terminals to look up customer information and correctly use computerized inventory control system.
  • Ensure staff are properly trained to safely use tools, i.e. forklift, pallet jack, hand tools.
  • Correctly and promptly document and report Injuries, Illness, Incident and Safety Training.
  • Communicate company standards and policies and take proactive corrective actions in collaboration with
  • Human Resources to ensure compliance.
  • Provide ongoing training to ensure enhanced productivity and professional development of team members.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Who You Are
  • Minimum of 3 years prior warehouse supervisory preferred.
  • CDL preferred but not required.
  • 18 years or older and possess/maintain a valid Driver's License in the location's state.
    • Minimum 2 years of safe driving. Preferred 5+ years driving experience
  • Able to successfully complete our pre-employment physical and drug screening.
  • Able to obtain a DOT Medical certificate.
    • Employment in this role is dependent on maintaining all DOT and driving certifications if applicable to the location.
  • Heavy lifting up to 75 lbs. unassisted.
  • Excellent customer service, team, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with computerized inventory systems.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and reliability.
  • Able to read and understand work orders, shipping and receiving paperwork.
  • Able to obtain and maintain Forklift training and certification as necessary.
  • Experience in operation of various equipment including but not limited to pallet jacks, and hand tools.
  • Our positions require successfully completing the pre-employment background check and signing a nondisclosure agreement.

EDUCATION
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
