Job description

The Inside Sales Representative creates value for our customers by assisting customers with product selection, answers technical questions, and suggests product options to deliver accurate, responsive quotations. Provides innovative problem-solving to satisfy customer needs and offers expertise for electrical products and lighting solutions. Actively prospects for new business and follows quotations through to order, while keeping transactional records clean and accurate.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    1.Ensures accurate, responsive customer service is provided through day-to-day operations on the phone, at the counter, and via electronic communication.
    2.Provides alternative solutions and complementary products to increase the value delivered to the customer and the company.
    3.Conducts daily sales prospecting — outbound calls, emails, and counter interactions — to identify, develop, and capture new opportunities, supporting both house accounts and outside sales territories.
    4.Follows up on open quotations on a consistent cadence (generally within two business days) to convert quotes to orders, capture customer feedback, and update pricing or availability as needed.
    5.Provides customer service and support to outside salesmen as required, expediting orders, solving problems, and making vendor inquiries in accordance with guidelines.
    6.Picks counter and will-call orders for quick turnaround.
    7.Prepares timely quotations for customers and account representatives.
    8.Maintains clean, accurate, and complete transactional records — quotes, orders, returns, will-calls, and customer notes — in the system of record, ensuring data integrity for reporting, audits, and margin tracking.
    9.Assists in the warehouse and performs other job- and work-related responsibilities, tasks, and projects as assigned.
