Job description

Job Summary:

The Business Development Representative supports business growth by maintaining and developing relationships with existing and potential customers, primarily at main office and customer locations. This role focuses on customer engagement, account support, and identifying opportunities to strengthen partnerships and drive growth.

From time to time, the Business Development Representative may assist with internal operational needs, including answering phones or providing inside support, as business demands require.

Essential Functions:

  • Generate and qualify opportunities through outbound prospecting, including phone calls, emails, referrals, and in-person outreach as needed.
  • Achieve or exceed lead generation and opportunity targets set by Regional Manager.
  • Research prospective customers using online resources, city permitting offices, and other lead-generation tools.
  • Conduct site visits, and client meetings to promote company products and services.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain a pipeline of current or potential customers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through consistent communication and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with customer service teams to ensure customer satisfaction and successful account transitions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, customer interactions, and opportunities
  • Identify and repost opportunities to improve new and existing customer satisfaction and retention.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, including 1 to 3 years of experience in business development, sales, or a customer-facing role, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Windows.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to be tactful, discreet, and persuasive during outreach and prospect engagement.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as percentages, ratios, and basic sales metrics.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Travel Requirements:
  • occasional local travel may be required based on business needs.
