Position Overview
As an Ink Technical Service Representative, you will serve as the primary on-site technical expert and liaison between our team and a major packaging customer specializing in high-speed flexographic printing. You will drive continuous improvement, coordinate technical activities across laboratory and manufacturing environments, and deliver elite press-side troubleshooting. This dynamic role combines hands-on technical service, such as color matching and formulation, with leadership responsibilities, including oversight and guidance of ink room employees and following plant safety and operational compliance.
Key Responsibilities
  • On-Site Leadership & Collaboration: Act as the central point of contact for all operational InPlant matters. Partner closely with Sales, Customer Technical Service (CTS), and leadership to ensure seamless customer technical support.
  • Press-Side Technical Support: Provide expert troubleshooting on the press floor, delivering detailed and consistent technical reporting to optimize print performance.
  • Operations & Quality Control: Perform precise color matching, formulation, and small-batch ink blending. Maintain detailed production and QC records to ensure all products exceed customer specifications.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead process improvement initiatives. Analyze batch tickets to identify rework opportunities and eliminate waste.
  • Safety & Compliance: following housekeeping and safety operations, proactively identifying and reporting any process gaps.
  • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive monthly reports to keep executive leadership and stakeholders informed.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in a technical field OR 5 + years of relevant printing/ink industry experience.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of pressroom operations and printing processes.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in MS Office and SAP; intermediate experience utilizing Gantt charts for project tracking.
  • Core Competencies: Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct hands-on experience with flexographic printing.
  • 3-5 years of dedicated field Customer Technical Service (CTS) experience.
